National Institute of Design (http://www.nid.edu/) offers Professional Education Programmes at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels across 18 diverse design domains across 3 campuses. The institute focuses on experiential learning accompanied by an approach to design that gives primacy to hands-on experience. This approach, while building a strong knowledge and skill base seeks to hone ability for original conceptual quality and context specific design solutions.
Placement Cell:
The objective of the Cell is to provide a strategic platform to synergize and facilitate interaction between academia and industry with an idea to provide NID-Student exposure to the industries, creating opportunities for students’ project-based learning like diploma projects, industrial training and classroom projects; by providing a meeting ground where the prospective employer can identify suitable candidates for recruitment in their organization. This event also creates awareness among the industries about NID and its various modes of operations.
Students are encouraged to pursue opportunities in areas such as social communication, service sectors, technology enhanced learning, Craft Design, Green Design, Universal Design, and Experiential Design. The quality of education received by NID graduates has contributed to their success at various levels across diverse segments of the economy; their works and ideas have been duly acknowledged nationally and internationally.
Placement Week 2012:
- NID Annual Placement Week – 2012 (Dates: 7th, 8th and 9th December, 2012; will connect you to both the fresh graduates, who will be convocating on 27th December, 2012 for full – time positions and students seeking diploma projects (final semester internship for 4-6 months) from 18 design disciplines.

The schedules for the Placement Week, 2012 are:
- NID R & D Campus, Bengaluru – 22nd, 23rd, 24th November, 2012
- NID Main Campus, Ahmedabad – 7th and 8th December, 2012
- NID PG Campus, Gandhinagar – 9th December, 2012
The Pre Placement Talks (PPTs) for the Main campus and PG campus students are scheduled from
4th December, 2012 to 6th December, 2012 between 3p.m. - 6p.m. with a slot of 30 minutes. The industries interested for PPTs are requested to share the dates and slot of their choice and fill in the below registration form with a line of confirmation latest by 15th October, 2012; so that we can plan out and help you make your interaction with NID more fruitful.
Registration fees:mpanies registering for the placement week 2012 will have to send the Demand Draft of the amount of Rs.5000/-(inclusive of taxes) in favor of “National Institute of Design” payable at Ahmedabad at the time of online registration.
The companies founded /owned by NID Alumni are exempted from the registration fees.
Once the registration is done, the list of registered organizations is open to the students for their registration.
